CAMP K-12
Creative Courses for Summer 2010
-In collaboration with Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram
About Camp K-12 ™
Who we are and Our 3-way approach– Technology, Leadership, and Social Skills: We all know that Technology is advancing at a rapid pace, and its important for our children to remain ahead of the technology curve to be true global students, by mastering the advanced software applications & tools for their own purpose and projects. While your child’s school is well equipped with technology, but because of constraint of time, the school has to focus on the prescribed school curriculum. And our children may like to explore more and beyond the school curriculum by learning deeper in particular technology or wider in various software applications. Camp K-12 bridges that gap by offering depth and project based, technology learning.
Camp K-12 was founded with a diverse purpose while hands-on technological instruction is the primary goal, a secondary objective is to facilitate the development of leadership and soft-skills in our campers. Camp K-12 students are encouraged to think freely and to create their projects (in teams or individually) with the help of our instructors, while learning a variety of software applications. Additionally, each student is given ample opportunity to practice and receive feed, back on his/her presentation skills, and our instructors combine technology-related coursework with workshops on topics including (but not limited to) making confident introductions, overcoming nervousness, and the importance of firm handshakes.
Camp K-12 is a quickly growing organization that offers One week, two week and four week-long Programs in the field of technology to 4th-12th grade students.
Our Instructors: Our recruitment and training process is very exclusive and discreet. We only recruit the best and provide them the best training and best salary. Our instructors, who have been hand-picked from India’s top engineering colleges like IITs, are passionate Geeks, and offer a unique blend of subject matter expertise, intelligence, communication skills, and teaching prowess.
Our curriculum & courses: The curriculum we use for our courses has been designed by a Computer Science student at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA) and has been implemented successfully in high schools across the world, including in Italy, Brazil, and the United States.
Our courses are designed to supplement and enhance a student’s learning in school, and cover fun topics such as Game Creation, Web Design, Video Editing, Java, C++, and Mobile Software Development. The courses offered by Camp K-12 are unique in their hands-on and applied nature. Students in each course work on a number of intermediate projects as well as a final project (see the table on the right), which they have to finish for graduating from the course. Depending upon their past knowledge and skill level, students may also choose to create more difficult projects from scratch, under the expert guidance of our instructors.
Instructor to student ratio: 1:7 to 1:10, depending upon the course:** Allowing one to one instructor interaction with every student. Each student will be working on a dedicated computer (except the team projects).
Program Dates: May 24th – June 25, 2010
Pricing: Rs. 6500* per student per course of 40 hours, with the option of doing it in one week, two weeks and four weeks (for junior classes).
*Note: Students that sign up for multiple courses will be eligible for discounted pricing.
